British Columbia's Daniel Gardner, currently residing in Berlin, has been delighting audiences with his distinctively human brand of electroacoustic oddities for years and continues to improve. Armed with a background in classical piano and a deliciously refreshing DIY ethic (check his website for depictions of some of his homemade creations, from washtub-bass to bike-powered spring reverb to contact-mic'ed knife which he incorporates into his live performance), Frivolous imparts a much-needed sense of nostalgia and romanticism onto a genre which is too-often defined by its relentless pursuit of the new. You can get a sense of what a fun, dynamic live performer he is by enjoying his set from last year's Communikey Festival in Boulder, CO. but there's no substitute for catching him live if ever he's in your area.
