I must confess I have a weakness for all things adorably morbid, and this proclivity is perhaps what has made Psapp one of my favorite groups of the past decade. Sweetly innocent, whimsical children's-toy melodies, masterfully produced by Carim Clasmann, combined with Galia Durant's remarkably poignant songwriting, work their way in amongst the heartstrings, where they gently pluck and tease out our innermost emotions. Psapp's instrumentation, while musically complex, evokes a sense of childlike playful simplicity which is juxtaposed quite well against Durant's unmistakable voice as it delves into some decidedly mature and occasionally dark subject matter. I discovered this amazing duo right as I lost a dear friend, and their music has helped me immensely through that and other trying times - may they help you too.
