I've been wrestling for weeks with how to cover the 2010 Communikey Festival of Electronic Arts, and frankly, I don't think I'll be able to squeeze that great big amazing experience into anything that can be easily digested through this medium. The Books debuted their new 3-man lineup to a sold-out Fox Theater. ATLAS's black box theater played host to informative workshops and world-class performances from around the world. The Bunker curated a stellar all-night techno journey featuring the Colorado debut of Akufen. Sunday brought the whole weekend together beautifully with summery, sun-drenched house vibes followed by a descent into the depths of dub techno at Fiske Planetarium. I can't convey all the meaningful moments of human interaction that occurred in between these broad strokes. I can wholeheartedly recommend coming to experience next year's festival in Boulder, CO for yourself. In the meantime, you can check out the ViceVerse tour, traveling North America as I type, and listen to Ejival's set from the opening night at Bombay Bistro:
