I must confess I was a little late to the Avett Brothers party - all through this year, I kept reading and hearing about their fantastic folk/country music and their ever-growing popularity, but for one reason or another I never really got around to listening to them until quite recently. I am officially impressed. If one song in particular sold me on them, it's 'The Ballad of Love and Hate', a clever, beautiful, heartfelt gem off of their 2007 album Emotionalism.
