July is shaping up to be a good month to be in Colorado, thanks in no small part to the inaugural Biennial of the Americas, a monthlong celebration of "the culture, ideas & people of the western hemisphere" which features an impressive program of music, art and discussion guaranteed to stimulate and inspire. I've had the pleasure of attending Biennial events the past two weekends, and I've been quite impressed with the quality of the art, music, and humanity in general that were present.
Now I know you're sitting there thinking, "so if you've gone, where are the pictures? What the hell kind of blogger are you that goes to awesome events and doesn't take pictures?" I guess the short answer, as evidenced by my post frequency of late, is 'not a very good one.' Rest assured, however, that the Biennial is being painstakingly documented by photographers more capable than me, though that comfort should by no means serve as an excuse not to experience it for yourself. If you're in the Denver area, check out the program at the McNichols building - no matter who you are, I guarantee you'll find something therein that will speak to you.
